I was really looking forward to this event today especially because it’s being held at Lampton Park, Hounslow. The last time I went to Philippine Barrio Fiesta in London was back in 2011!! Lucky enough the nice weather held compared to previous day where rain fell for most of the day.
I must admit my first impressions was very good. This is very well organised event and the whole area setup quite well. There were plenty of the usual affiliate & food stalls, sponsors, kids zone, movie tent and even a sheltered area where you can hide from the searing sun or the heavy rain.
Even though this is a ticketed closed event this made it a much better, safer, organised as insisted by Hounslow Council for the health and safety of everyone visiting the Hounslow Summer Festival. The entry fee of £2 was well worth the money and there was plenty of things to see and get involved with, even on a couple of occasions where small children who happen to get separated from their groups we’re easily found safely knowing the fact the whole area is closed off with plenty of security, medical and local police at hand ready to assist anyone who may require their services.
Well done to the organizers for putting the public first before profit. Something the Barrio Fiesta in Apps Court Farm could learn from especially last years travel chaos!
